Don’t you understand what I mean Raspberry-pi? When people talk about DIY – Do it yourself topic in the technology world, the first thing comes into mind is raspberry pi. The Raspberry Pi is a small computer that can do lots of things. You plug it into a monitor and attach a keyboard and mouse.

OK. Why I am very excited about this new version. Because it is very useful to own my data myself. Don’t you understand?

One of my friends told me about the exciting tiny computer. Initially, I thought that how it will be useful for me whether it is learning perspective or day to day life use perspective. Later, I saw a wonderful project called – a voice assistant technology. So, I thought of installing it on my laptop but the voice technology proved to be working very well in raspberry kind of device.

To run the privacy-by-design voice assistant, I am encouraged to buy this device and successfully running my voice assistant that won’t communicate to cloud for each and every request that I make with that device.

When I started following it, I understand, it is not only for voice assistant. But, with the help of Raspberry Pi – I can run all my privacy in the tiny personal cloud computer. has not only released version 4, starting from Raspberry Pi zero wireless till Raspberry Pi version 4, but each and every device is also really helpful for a specific purpose. In fact, I have encouraged my whole company by publishing my article about Raspberry Pi and it’s usage in the office forum. Don’t worry, I will discuss here in this channel about the sole purpose of each and every device and exciting projects that you can install on those devices.

Before I wet my hands on raspberry pi, I don’t know the meaning of privacy. All my family photos were on a cloud, even my personal important information was stored on the cloud. Though, it was easy to access the files from the cloud. One day, I tried to find the important scanned documents which were in image format but it was hard to find the location in the cloud folder. So, just to fool myself I search for a particular word on the image document. You can’t believe! The search engine brought an important personal document in front of me. Thought I proud of technology growth, on the flip side, I got the strike into my mind that how the imaged document was processed and got me the result.

You won’t believe, within 2 months. I got my owncloud running on my raspberry pi and able to access all my personal files, photos, and documents from the tiny raspberry pi which is hanging on the corner of my house.

Without more ado, let me explain to you how this small computer fulfills my digital needs.

I ordered my Raspberry pi 3 model B plus with configuration of 1.4GHz 64-bit quad-core processor, dual-band wireless LAN, Bluetooth 4.2/BLE, faster Ethernet, 1GB LPDDR2 SDRAM, wireless LAN, Bluetooth, Full-size HDMI, 4 USB 2.0 ports, CSI camera port, and 5Volt/2.5Amp DC power input.

Is it not surprising, even you won’t get 4 USB ports in the recently released laptops. But, all these you get and run your show with lesser power of 5 volts.

With this configuration, I followed the getting started guide and install the first server application called owncloud to safeguard my personal files and photos.

What is owncloud – ownCloud is the most straightforward way to file sync and share data. You don’t need to worry about where or how to access your files. With ownCloud, all your data is wherever you are; accessible on all devices, any time.

ownCloud is hosted exclusively on your own private server/cloud so you can rest assured that your data is under your control. ownCloud is all about your privacy and works to protect your files. It ensures that access is controlled only by the one who should have control: You.

When traveling, access ownCloud through your Android or iOS devices. Automatically upload pictures after taking them. Sync files at home or work with the desktop client keeping one or more local folders synchronized between devices. And wherever you are, the web interface lets you view, share and edit your files alone or with others. Want to integrate third-party storage providers? With its open and flexible architecture, ownCloud offers implementations of Dropbox, Microsoft OneDrive and many more. Wherever you are, your data is with you.
Then, I installed another server application called Plex to host my desired songs and films on my premises.

What is Plex: Plex brings together all the media that matters to you. Your personal collection will look beautiful alongside stellar streaming content. Enjoy Live TV & DVR, a growing catalog of great web shows, news, and podcasts. It’s finally possible to enjoy all the media you love in a single app, on any device, no matter where you are.

Finally, I decided to track myself which should be owned by me. So I installed owntrack.

What is Owntrack: OwnTracks allows you to keep track of your own location. You can build your private location diary or share it with your family and friends. OwnTracks is open-source and uses open protocols for communication so you can be sure your data stays secure and private.

I only use the OpenStreetMap community supported map for navigation purpose, so my location tracked only by me and safe in my self.

Though, I am running all these servers in small factor. Sometimes, I wish to get raspberry pi with more ram supported. Yes, today surprised me with such a wonderful tiny powerful computer.

Now, my tiny, dual-display, desktop computer
…and robot brains, smart home hub, media center, networked AI core, factory controller, and much more. With the configuration of 4K display, powerful processor, my choice of Ram – obviously I have ordered with 4GB Ram, and USB 3 support for fast fetching my data with fast internet speed through fast networking.
What! Don’t expect me to talk about more as I can talk for an hour and an hour. Go ahead and order your raspberry pi and respect your privacy.

Guys Note: I just released this video with the excitement of new version with very good configuration. Just publishing this video, I don’t get any support or sales commission from Raspberrypi organization. It is just to spread the word of how to respect your privacy in this internet world with a small device. You can even use your own laptop if you are fine to spend 24 by 7 power running and charges.
